====== Wendele Selu Helevorn-Sedis ====== Description [wiki] : Imperial Princess of Clairmont who was instrumental in the [[Clairmont Uprising]] Race [ref] : Elpha Location [ref]* : Affiliation [ref]* : Wendele's Court, House Helevorn, Clairmont, Clan Helevorn, Pantheon // See also: [[sheets:wendele_selu_helevorn-sedis]] // Imperial Princess Wendele Selu Helevorn-Sedis is a seemingly out of place Clairmont Princess living in Heisei. She keeps her own [[Wendele's Court|court]] and is always accompanied by her loyal bodyguard [[Lilima Lyevala]]. ===== History ===== Born Lady Wendele Selu Helevorn, Wendele was raised in the luxury of a landed noble family in [[Clairmont]]. She gained notoriety leading the defense against an invasion into Clairmont by the [[Theocracy]]. Among other audacious deeds, she walked straight into an enemy camp, loading the enemies catapults onto a wagon and rode out of the front gate to reinforce her own army with them, leaving the burning enemy camp behind her. Her forces were key in driving the Theocratic forces out of Clairmont, which she followed up by marching into Theocracy territory and taking control of a large chunk of it in a unilaterally declared holy war which she justified with the [[Council of Memis]]. As part of the growing conflict, [[Demogorgon]] put a price of 1 million gold on her head, leading to assassins coming after her. Defeating the assassins, Wendele eventually "convinced" Demogorgon to give up the hunt against her. Wendele married to [[Lona Sedis-Helevorn]] to forge a political alliance between her family and [[Tynntangial]], all the while building up the Helevorn Mercenary Corps to an elite cavalry, infantry and aerial army. With the new army, and after stirring up trouble, Wendele led an alliance to take control of the Clairmont empire from the ruling emperor, installing House Helevorn's patriarch as the new emperor by taking advantage of shifting allegiances in the divine power structure. After the fallout, Wendele meandered around the chaos her own actions and the new power structures had brought, using her extensive diplomatic abilities to convert the demon [[Orcus]] to follow the new Pantheon, bringing the [[Moon Fey]] somewhat closer together and tricking the Goddess [[Beliria]] into reuniting with her merciful side. The Goddess was not entirely pleased with Wendele's trickery and cursed her to never again be able to tell a lie. Additional punishment was used by the Clairmont Empress to kick Wendele out of Clairmont and banish her to Heisei where she would be without access to her old power base. Wendele settled there with the Imperial family until her lack of understanding of the local culture and customs brought her into disfavor. Traveling to live with distant relatives, Wendele was soon found to be operating at a level slightly above what folk were used to, receiving regular visits from positively enormous dragons, deities and kitsune. In an effort to minimize, or at least spread out the damage this was causing, Wendele went on a trip across the country following the path by which [[Clan Helevorn]] had once arrived in the area, to learn of the local customs and culture. Wendele finally came to live in the Clan Helevorn capital of [[Yukikawa]], though her obsession with power caused her some extensive trouble, including a confrontation with the Four Beauties, a conflict with the ruler of the First Layer of Hell over stealing his artifacts, and resurrecting a dead deity after sleep walking into the place it was sleeping. ===== Symbols ===== Wendele's personal symbol is the Tria Phoenixia, a three-headed phoenix bird. Each head represents one of the types of magic Wendele controlls, Bennu Heron representing Arcane magic, Fenghuang representing Divine magic and Quetzalcoatl representing Psionic magic. As a member of House Helevorn by blood, Wendele flies the House Helevorn colours, Party per Quarter Or and Azure. Following an oath to Beliria, Wendele always wears white.
