Zen Seki or the zen gate is a rather peculiar object. It is a bag full of rough gravel together with 10 bigger stones. To activate the gate the user has to spread out the gravel and place the stones within 100 square feet (10 by 10 foot). The gravel will be contained my a low ectoplasmic wall that prevents the gravel from rolling off. This then has to be raked and shaped to match the flow of energy in the area according to zen philosophy. When this is done a pair of shōji(障子) doors will appear on the edge of the gravel garden. When these doors are opened they reveal an other plane of existence.

This works like a gate spell that goes to one plane only. It can be moved and needs to be activated in a process that takes around 30 minutes. You can see and hear things that are on the other side of the gate when the doors are open. There is a limit to how many people can pass trough the gate until it is brought to much out of balance and becomes opaque and non functional. Only 10 creatures can pass trough the gate in total per day. This means that 10 creatures can go to the plane or come from the plane. Or you can take 5 round trips.
