Wendele has travelled to live in Heisei, where she is staying at the imperial palace of the Heisei Emperor, though more accurately in a back area behind a servants wing of the imperial palace. She is there as a guarantee for the alliance between Clairmont and Heisei and as such is under strict security organized by Kyoraku Kukichi, being a hostage more than a guest and as such having only limited luxuries available to her. The accommodations are designed to be fitting for someone of her station, though they are quite a lot less luxurious than those of members of the actual imperial family.
Wendele has a single room some 12 by 12 meters in size. The room, as the rest of the building here, is single floored with a high ceiling and made of wood. The walls are made of wooden panels with paper in between and the floor is covered in tatami mats.
One of the panels in the western wall on the north side can be opened, forming the only door to lead into the area. Four guards are stationed here inside the room to keep an eye on things and provide security, though they are there more to keep Wendele in than to keep others out. The northern wall itself is the only outer wall, separating the room from the garden outside and allowing the light in.
About halfway down the northern wall and towards the eastern one, some folding screens separate out a bedroom. The screens have been decorated with drawings of landscapes and birds and several poems are written in Gengo on either side to accompany them. The bedroom contains a floor mattress which is ridiculously oversized for Wendele with several white blankets to keep her warm at night.
In the south eastern part of the room, Wendele has organized a sort of throne room that doubles as living room. Her own chair is set up on a small raised platform and there are pillows for comfortable kneeling by guests around a low table and she receives guests here for tea. There are several other chairs off to the side as well for people who desire normal chairs.
Finally the south west part of the room is also separated off by folding screens. Here Wendele has her desk and books and she goes here for reading and writing, which in Wendele's case actually means someone else does this for her while she sits around and listens or dictates.
Exiting through the rooms entrance and following the hall in northern direction past the various guards here leads to a double sliding door in the panelled walls which in turn leads into the gardens by a short staircase. The gardens are spartan in style and enclosed by walls of the palace on all sides, one of many enclosed gardens in the palace that help light up the inner area's of the palace such as this one. The garden features a single path that leads in a circle before coming back to the entryway. Outside the circle are rock gardens with some small plants and in the centre of the circle is a bonsai tree, growing in a pot that forms an island in a small pond. Unbeknownst to Wendele, the garden has a Wall of Force as a roof, protecting both from escape attempts and from unwanted visitors dropping in on the palace without asking.
Wendele keeps a lot of servants, though more accurately she uses many of the palaces servants. These stay in the same general area, but due to the various restrictions placed upon her, Wendele only receives small groups of them at a time to attend to specific needs such as dressing, bathing or entertainment.
