“The tenth night has come, and She reveals her face: Turning just so, slightly seen against the black of the night.” Druidic dedication
This axe is crafted by the Fey from parts of Ilfrean and is made entirely out of natural components. Some believe that due to the Items strong connection to Ilfrean it not only possesses parts of an intelligent personality but also appears to be alive. The item's strong connection to Ilfrean requires a close connection between it and the wielder and thus has minor soulbound properties.
Its handle is a living branch of wood overgrown with ivy that shapes itself around the wielders hand to ensure a strong grip. When sheathed the ivy retracts around the branch and blossoms with small white flowers. The items blades are thick leaves of a water lily that is grafted on top of the branch. When drawn the leaves combine and form strong razor-sharp edges, which are considered to be adamantine, that can cause serious harm. When sheathed the lily may blossom and attract insects as any normal plant.
Locking gauntlet :
As inherent property the Ivy enhances the grip of the wielder, granting a +10 on CMD vs disarm attempts. While the Ivy is wrapped around the hand of the wielder, the hand cannot be used for casting or employing skills. (You can still cast spells with somatic components, provided that your other hand is free.)
Entangle (Su) (2/day) :
The Ivy can, as a standard action, cause an effect similar to Entangle (DC 11). [CL 1]
Spore Cloud (Su) :
Once per day as a standard action, the lilly can emit a transparent cloud of pollen in a 30 ft cone as an effect similar to Stinking Cloud (DC 14). [CL 5]
Draw back:
In order to maintain a close connection to Ilfrean and keep the axe living, a ritual is required once a year. The ritual requires for the Ivy and Lilly to be tended to by a Nymph in the waters of a sacred grove during the day, followed by nightly dedication and prayer to Ilfrean while placed at the grove's sacred altar by the wielder of the axe. The ritual lasts for a week and must be done under a full moon. Once completed the living wood will blossom during each subsequent full moon. If the ritual is not performed at least once a year, the weapon temporally loses all powers including any enhancement bonus on the weapon (if any) until the ritual is performed again.
